FAQ

Short answers to the questions we hear most.

Questions

Is stockloan.fun a bank or a lender?

No. It is a web interface. Loans happen inside Kamino Lend on Solana and Morpho on Robinhood Chain. stockloan.fun does not lend its own money and does not hold yours.

Do you hold my funds or my keys?

No. The app is non custodial. Your wallet holds your keys and signs every transaction. The app never sees your seed phrase and never asks for it.

Does it cost anything to use?

You pay interest on loans (set by the protocol and variable), the network fee in SOL or ETH, and any fees the protocols charge. stockloan.fun adds no fee of its own today. On Solana it can earn a share of the fees Kamino already charges referred borrowers, at no extra cost to you, but that share is currently 0 on both xStocks markets. A 10% performance fee on a stockloan.fun USDG vault is planned and will be shown before you sign.

How do Telegram alerts and the Repay guard work?

On the Alerts page you sign a short message with your wallet (not a transaction, no fee) and open our Telegram bot. Every few minutes we read your position from the public chain. You get a message when your health falls below your level (1.3 by default), in the last 3 hours before the US market closes for a weekend or holiday if your health is under 1.5, and when a stock reaches your Repay guard price. The Repay guard is not automatic: its message links to a prefilled repay that only happens if you sign it.

What is Buy more with your loan?

On Solana you can borrow USDC against a stock, swap it into more of the same stock with Jupiter and add that to your collateral, up to 1.5x exposure. It is three or four separate signatures, each simulated first, and a big risk screen shows your liquidation price before and after. It raises both gains and losses.

Which wallets work?

On Solana, wallets that support the Wallet Standard, such as Phantom, Solflare and Backpack. On Robinhood Chain, EVM wallets such as MetaMask, Rabby, Coinbase Wallet and Robinhood Wallet. On a phone, open the site inside your wallet app.

Who can use it?

Not US persons, and not people in sanctioned countries or regions. The issuers also restrict the United Kingdom, Canada and some other places, and the list differs per chain. The app asks for your country before you connect. See the supported chains page for the full lists.

Where do I get stock tokens or dollars?

stockloan.fun does not sell or bridge tokens (the only swap is inside Buy more with your loan on Solana). You need to have the stock tokens (xStocks on Solana, Robinhood Stock Tokens on Robinhood Chain) or the dollar tokens in your wallet already.

What happens if my stock token falls in price?

Your health factor drops. If it falls below 1.00, your loan can be liquidated: others can repay part of your debt and take some of your collateral plus a bonus. You can avoid this by repaying part of the loan or adding collateral before that point.

Can I be liquidated over a weekend?

Yes. Loans run all the time, but the US stock market is closed on weekends and holidays, so prices can jump when it reopens. A loan that looked safe on Friday can be liquidated on Monday. The Weekend Guard shows a rough warning and a safer LTV.

Why can I not withdraw all my dollars?

Lent dollars are loaned out to borrowers, so you can only withdraw what is currently free. When a pool or vault is heavily used, withdrawals can wait until borrowers repay or new dollars arrive. If you also have a loan open on Solana, withdrawing supplied dollars lowers your health.

How is the borrow rate set?

By the protocol, from how much of the pool is borrowed. It is variable and can change at any time. The app shows the current rate and a yearly estimate. There is no fixed repayment date, and interest is added to your debt while the loan is open.
